Cooking & Reheating Instructions
Thank you for celebrating the holidays with The Buttery; we are so happy to cook with you!
Here are some extra turkey tips in case you're roasting your own bird:
• Pull your turkey out of the fridge 30 minutes before you begin preparations.
• It is ideal to roast an uncooked turkey for 13 minutes per pound. On average, the entire roasting period should last around 3 hours for birds ranging from 12 to 16 lbs. Always make sure the internal temperature of your bird reaches 165ºF before removing from the oven.
• We also recommend investing in a separate oven thermometer to warm, bake, and reheat with peace of mind!
If you have any questions, please give us a call or email us at info@thebutteryatl.com. We will be checking emails periodically on Thanksgiving Day, so if you need any help we will be there for you. Happy cooking, happy eating!

About Our Roasted Bird
The Roasted Turkey is fully cooked and can be eaten cold. The unsliced turkey was roasted the night before you pick it up and will keep freshly cooked in your refrigerator for 1 week unsliced. After it has been sliced, the USDA recommends that you use all leftovers within 3 to 4 days. Of course, leftovers can be frozen for 3 to 4 months, but will most likely lose their quality over time. One great use of the leftover turkey is to make a Turkey Stock, which can be used to make a Turkey Gumbo!
The bag your Roasted Turkey is packed in is oven heat safe! The intention is to roast the turkey in the bag and on the provided foil tin. You will also receive a small container of pan drippings to use as you see fit. Your Turkey is roasted on a bed of onions and we use a butter and white wine basting technique to make the drippings are especially delicious. When we tested the recipe, we thickened the drippings with a little roux and folded them into our gravy. They would be equally delicious served hot on the side as an extra double secret sauce!
The Bird & the Cloth
Check out another version of roasting your bird with Chef Hopkins' favorite method using a cheesecloth! A fun new try for the turkey this year. This method is different from our Original Roast, available in our Cooking & Reheating Instructions above.
Got leftovers? Of course you do!
One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is, of course, the leftovers, and we have just the recipe to combine them all together. Check out Chef's Leftover Turkey Burger recipe, featured in People magazine!
